Well, what a whirlwind couple of weeks it has been. We are so pleased to be open again and to have customers back in-store with us. It has been a trying few months for as all but one thing that hasn't changed is our desire for good quality ingredients.
When I took over the shop from the previous owner 3 years ago, I have to say that one of the things I had envisioned was to bring in a few more New Zealand based products to showcase just how far we have come as a country in creating artisan products that can match some of our overseas counterparts.
Don't get me wrong, I truly love a lot of our international products that I have in our shop and there's no denying that you can never replace a Salty Dutch Liquorice, the sharpness of the Italian Parmigiano Reggiano or the true uniqueness of some of the appetising French Terrines & rillettes.
However, I think the time is now for us all to also look a little closer to home for some of the delicious and creative items we have in our own backyard.
So in saying this, check out some of the awesome NZ products that we also have in-store alongside our international products.
I hope more than anything that you are all finding your way through Level 2 and that you have managed to slowly figure out what your new normal might look like. My children and I are looking forward to a short break next week and are heading back to see family in the Hawkes Bay & East Coast. So watch this space as I may be back with more awesome products from around our country.
